Strangled by red tape

I am swearing off timelines. The MoE's first 90 day deadline was March 20th. Lo and behold, on March 19th they found they needed a new document from all submitting adoption agencies. The document doesn't seem to be that difficult - a statement from a governing body that adopted children have same rights as biological children. Hopefully this will be a quick turn around for all the agencies. Regardless, though, no one knows how this will affect the turnaround time for accreditation. Does the 90 days start over? Does this just give the MoE an open ended time frame for review? The speculation is across the board and the conspiracy theorists have definite thoughts on the subject. As for me, I just don't know. We have seen too many couples lose their referrals lately because of the lag in time and Russian families coming forward. At this point, all we can do is hope and pray that things move swiftly and that we have the patience to endure it.

A bit of an update on T

We received an email from our caseworker today stating that all is well with little T. He has not been sick this winter. That is good news. It is also good news that he is still considered ours. In this crazy process, you just never know. As time passes we fear the phone call that he has become "unavailable". So, while the info we got wasn't much, it was wonderful to hear something!

My papaw

My grandfather has end stage cancer and we pray that his battle will be over today. He was such an incredible, strong man who has had a long wonderful life. He taught all of us the importance of family and he is the reason that my family is so incredibly close. My only regret for him... really for me, is that he will not meet Baby T. I love you Papaw.

Loved my card, SBP

I'm having an average day, and go to check the mail. Flipping through it, I see a card from by Secret Blog Pal. I couldn't even wait to get into the house, I just dropped all the bills on the porch and opened my card. I laughed out loud at my passport photos! I hope you are right and we are traveling very soon. Thanks for bringing a smile to my day!!!
